PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – For the first time, the Portsmouth Sheriff’s Office allowed nine inmates to attend an outing, for a private movie screening.
The screening of Michael, the new Michael Jackson biopic, was held Wednesday evening at Regal Harbour View Theatre in Suffolk. The Men Alleviating Negativity (MAN) Foundation hosted the event in partnership with the sheriff’s office.
The outing served as a culminating experience for the incarcerated participants who completed a class series centered on self-reflection and personal growth.
