PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – My time at WAVY was filled with great experiences, people, and lessons. This is one of my first major internships, so I didn’t know what to expect. At WAVY, I learned several things that will help me throughout my career. Learning how the sports department and the news station as a whole work has been invaluable.
I have so many fond memories of my time as a Sports Intern. I was lucky enough to go to so many sporting events. I’ve been to everything from basketball games to press conferenceS this semester. I’ve been able to contribute to the Sportswrap and have stories I’ve worked on make air. It was so fun to record stand-ups, write stories, and edit video.
Over the course of my Internship, I’ve been able to learn about all the different departments at station. Every department has been enthusiastic about teaching what they do and where the industy is going. I enjoyed seeing how WAVY works as a unit…
