NORFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — The City of Norfolk and Norfolk Fire-Rescue held a dedication ceremony for Fire Station 11, the city’s newest fire station, Saturday morning, according to the City of Norfolk.
The ceremony took place at the new station, which is located at 2601 Lafayette Boulevard, at 11 a.m. on May 2. The new station replaces the old one that had been operating on Verdun Avenue for over a century. The city’s officials, including Mayor Kenneth Cooper Alexander, Norfolk Fire-Rescue Chief Sidney Carroll and Councilwoman Mamie B. Johnson, delivered remarks during the ceremony.
