Hampton Roads mayors urge Spanberger to veto collective bargaining bills

Leaders of four Hampton Roads cities are urging Gov. Abigail Spanberger to veto a pair of collective bargaining bills they say would create major challenges for local governments across Virginia.

In a joint letter, the mayors of Chesapeake, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach asked the governor to reject House Bill 1263 and Senate Bill 378, legislation passed by the General Assembly this session that would expand collective bargaining rights for public sector employees.
