VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WAVY) — With warmer weather right around the corner, bear sightings are becoming more commonplace, depending on where you live.
A group of bears was spotted in Chesapeake last month, and miles away in Virginia Beach, another bear was spotted in the Alanton neighborhood, of all places.
“He was just hanging out,” said Kirstyn Atkinson, who saw a bear while on a walk with a friend. “And two different police officers stopped us because they were also looking for the bear. And then we also saw animal control also. So everyone’s looking for the bear, and so we finally looped back around. … We were kind of like joking, like, ‘oh, man, that’d be so cool if we saw the bear.’”…
