Norfolk victim-witness advocate honored with Unsung Hero award

NORFOLK, Va. — A longtime Norfolk victim-witness advocate is being recognized for nearly three decades of service supporting crime victims.

The Office of the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney says Marlene Bright was honored April 23 by the Virginia Office of the Attorney General as an “Unsung Hero” for her work with victims of crime across the Commonwealth.

Bright has worked with the Norfolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office since 1997, beginning as a legal secretary before becoming a paralegal and later transitioning into victim-witness advocacy.
