CHESAPEAKE, Va. (WAVY) — The Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a fire Wednesday at 5:33 p.m. in the 700 block of Clearfield Avenue in Chesapeake after neighbors saw smoke coming from a room above the garage of a two-story home, according to officials.
The first unit that arrived at 5:36 p.m. reported smoke showing from the home.
Firefighters entered the home and located a fire on the second floor. Crews quickly extinguished the blaze and had it under control at 5:56 p.m.
The homeowners were not at home at the time of the fire.
Officials say three family dogs were located safely outside the fire area. Sadly, two additional dogs were found in the area of the blaze and did not survive…
