Virginia Beach residents can now get $50 worth of free Oceanfront parking every year—but in exchange, the city has ended the old resident discount rate and raised monthly garage costs significantly.
According to the city’s Resident Parking Voucher Plan FAQ, any Virginia Beach resident—homeowners, renters, and active-duty military families alike—can apply for the annual $50 credit, which loads directly onto the HONK Mobile app and works at select Oceanfront garages, surface lots, and metered spaces along Atlantic Avenue from Rudee Loop to 38th Street.
As of May 18, the city said it had received 11,961 applications for the program. Of those, 6,905 were approved and 4,080 residents have already claimed their credit. Another 3,153 were denied—usually for missing documentation—and 1,903 remain under review. If your application was denied, email [email protected] for further instructions…
