VDOT to pause some work zones, lane closures for Memorial Day Weekend

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) — Ahead of a busy Memorial Day travel weekend, the Virginia Department of Transportation is trying to ease congestion by lifting work zones and lane closures.

VDOT says it will begin at noon on Friday, May 22, on interstates and other major roads in Virginia. Drivers can expect these conditions until noon on Tuesday, May 26.
