DC man sentenced for arson of family’s apartment building

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A D.C. man was sentenced to nearly five years in prison for setting an apartment building where his family resided on fire, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office (USAO) for the District of Columbia.

Ronnie Bookhardt, 64, pleaded guilty in February to three counts of arson and was sentenced Friday to 57 months in prison with three years of supervised release.

Court documents stated that on Oct. 20, 2022, at 4:48 a.m., D.C. Fire Department investigators were alerted to a fire at a four-story apartment building in the 600 block of L St. SE.
