Bethesda Co-op Closes Permanently After Nearly 51 Years in Business

After nearly 51 years serving the community, Bethesda Co-op officially closed its doors for good on Sunday, May 31.

The longtime neighborhood grocery store, located at 6500 Seven Locks Rd. in Cabin John, shared an emotional farewell message with customers on social media as it prepared to close at 8pm Sunday evening. “Our Beloved Bethesda Co-op Becomes a Beautiful Memory at 8pm Tonight,” the store wrote. “Come By, Reminisce, & Walk Through One Last Time.”

The co-op thanked the community that supported it for more than five decades, writing, “We love you, Cabin John. Nearly 51 years providing good, real, organic food to our community.”…
