Woman killed in North Bethesda parking lot crash identified

NORTH BETHESDA, Md. (DC News Now) — Police said that a 76-year-old woman died after she hit a barricade at a parking lot in North Bethesda on Monday.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that just after 5:30 p.m., officers and crews with the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to a parking garage in the 11300 block of Woodglen Dr. for a reported single-car crash.

Responders said that a blue 2016 Toyota RAV4 was entering the parking garage from Marketplace Lane when the driver, later identified as Marjorie Rothschild of Potomac, lost control of the car and hit a cable barricade.

Rothschild died there. A passenger, a man, was taken to the hospital with significant injuries. He was expected to survive, police said…
