Fort Myer Construction Corporation to pay nearly $500K in DC pollution case

WASHINGTON (7News) — For the last two years, 7News has reported on one of the largest construction companies in the District being accused of intentionally polluting the Anacostia River for more than a decade.

The company now has to pay the city nearly half a million dollars for the alleged contamination.

In a lawsuit filed by the Office of the Attorney General, the District alleges that, for nearly a decade, Fort Myer Construction Corporation threatened D.C. residents’ health and safety by polluting waterways and ignoring cleanup orders…
