WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A District teenager died after a shooting in Northwest that took place on July 21.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that officers responded to the 2900 block of 1st St. NW for a reported shooting just before 12:10 a.m.
There, officers found a 17-year-old boy who had been shot. He was unconscious and not breathing. First responders took him to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

MPD said that on Sunday, Aug. 2, the boy — identified as Makai Smith of Northeast, D.C. — died due to his injuries…
