Front passes through this morning, much nicer day overall

Today will be a completely different day, as a front to the west of the DMV this morning crosses the area bringing less humid airmass behind it this afternoon. Early this morning;however, some locally dense fog may be seen behind last night’s torrential rain and storms. After the mornign fog burns off, the visibility will improve, and under partly cloudy skies, temperatures will rise into the mid-80s, with out all the humidity to follow. As a result, today’s Spirit 250 auto race in D.C. should go off without a hitch from “Mother Nature”.

Monday and Tuesday are shaping up to be beautiful and un-August like, with very low humidity and slightly below normal temps, as dry air moves into the region due to Canadian high pressure. Enjoy the brief taste of fall-like weather, because a return to more of a summerlike feel will be seen and felt late in the work week.

By Thursday, the humidity will make a return, along with typical afternoon showers and storms. Another cold front is in the forecast for Thursday night into Friday, as the thermometer rises back into the upper 80s and lower 90s for some.

7-Day Forecast:

Today: Some locally dense patchy fog this morning, before gradually becoming partly cloudy by early afternoon. High near 85. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 64. West wind around 6 mph becoming calm after midnight…
