The former home of Solaire Social, which was the first of two food halls to open in downtown Silver Spring, is currently being marketed for lease, according to posted signage.
The multi-kitchen eatery abruptly closed last fall after a 17-month run on the ground floor of the Solaire 8200 Dixon apartment building. Commas opened on the third level of the Ellsworth Place mall on Colesville Road last September, following a soft opening over the summer, and remains open.
The 13,000-square-foot former Solaire Social space contains $1.5 million in existing food service equipment and is leased by Bethesda-based Willard Retail, which is also marketing the recently closed Nips Juice House on Cameron Street and previously leased the space now occupied by Emma’s Torch Café on East-West Highway…
