PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Several people are displaced after a fire broke out at a home in New Carrollton Monday afternoon.
The Prince George’s County Fire and EMS Department said crews responded to a two-story split-level home in the 5700 block of 84th Avenue just minutes after 1 p.m.

At the scene, firefighters found flames coming from the basement. Crews extinguished the blaze with no injuries reported; however, officials said seven adults and two children were displaced.
The Prince George’s County Office of Homeland Security is helping the displaced residents.
