Worker flown to hospital after being hit by Tesla while picking up trash in Clinton

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A worker was hospitalized after he was hit by a Tesla while picking up trash near Branch Avenue on Monday afternoon.

Maryland State Police told DC News Now that the pedestrian crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Aug. 31 in the area of Branch Avenue and Surratts Road.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 26-year-old woman was driving a Tesla when, for unknown reasons, the car left the road and drove onto the grassy median. There, a 24-year-old, who had been completing a contracted trash pick-up detail, was run over.

The man was flown to the trauma center. The extent of his injuries is currently unknown…
