A Maryland woman returned to her vehicle in July 2022 only to find someone already sitting behind the wheel, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police website What followed left her significantly injured, her vehicle crashed in Washington, D.C., and investigators working a case that would not result in an arrest for more than four years.
Police now say 23-year-old Daymonte Antonyio Jones of District Heights was the person responsible for the carjacking. Jones was arrested on August 31, 2026, and charged in connection with the incident.
