FAIRFAX, Va. (DC News Now) — Police said a 13-year-old is dead after being struck by a large truck while riding a bicycle Wednesday afternoon in Fairfax.
According to a release issued by the City of Fairfax Police Department, the investigation began shortly after 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, when officers responded to the 3900 block of Pickett Road for a crash involving a teen and a “large truck.”
The 13-year-old, whom police have not yet identified, was seriously injured and died at the scene. An initial investigation found that the truck was seen leaving the area shopping center when it struck the teen on the bicycle, according to police…
