Fake babysitting job lured two women into kidnapping and armed robbery, prosecutors say

WASHINGTON (7News) — A 21-year-old D.C. woman was sentenced to 8 1/2 years in prison for helping kidnap and rob two women lured to a Southeast home with a fake babysitting job, federal prosecutors said.

Cierra Charity Lee pleaded guilty April 30 to kidnapping and armed robbery. U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper sentenced her to 102 months in prison and five years of supervised release. Prosecutors had requested a 14-year prison sentence.

The attack was orchestrated to prevent one of the women from testifying in a pending rape case against Lee’s boyfriend, Kayvon Edwards, according to court documents cited by the U.S. attorney’s office.
