“So very disappointing,” said Colin Pugh, Senior Pastor of Clinton Baptist Church, after he found out the van had been taken late Saturday night. “We use our vans so much to for our seniors and those with disability to get to different events and different services and also to help them out in the community.”

Police said the van was used in a burglary in Upper Marlboro Sunday morning. Two officers responded to the possible break-in at a gas station just before 2 a.m. and found the van with people inside of it. One of the officers tried to remove the driver from the driver’s seat. Police said the driver started to leave with the officer still holding onto the van. PGPD said the second patrol officer fired his weapon a single time, hitting one of the people in the van.
