Nine arrested in massive Maryland firearms and fentanyl bust

At least nine people were arrested after a massive firearms and drugs bust conducted in Maryland that saw close to 14,000 fentanyl pills seized, authorities said Tuesday.

The bust was the product of an extensive investigation that ended with Prince George’s County officials carrying out a search warrant at a Riverdale apartment.

“During the execution of that warrant on January 18, 2024, investigators recovered 13,825 fentanyl pills, cocaine and three firearms,” the Prince George’s County Police Department said .

“Detectives arrested nine suspects who were in the apartment at the time.”

The suspects, whose ages range from 20 to 33, are facing charges including drug trafficking offenses, firearms offenses, and myriad drug-related offenses, according to police.

“I applaud the incredible investigative work by the Gang Unit and the execution of this search warrant by the Emergency Services Team,” Deputy Chief Zachary O’Lare, Bureau of Investigation, said.
