Police officer, man bitten by dog in Northeast DC

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said a man and a police officer were bitten by a dog on Wednesday morning in Northeast D.C.

MPD said that at about 11:05 a.m., it responded to a call for service in the 4200 block of Foote Street NE.

Officer fires gun after dog bites 2 during welfare check

When police arrived at the scene, they found a dog who had been bitten. MPD said one of their officers was bitten by the dog and discharged their firearm.

It is not known if dog the was struck by a bullet. Officers have not found the dog.

Both the officer and the victim were transported to the hospital.
