Four arrested in Georgia, charged in series of ‘Rose Ruse’ burglaries in Fairfax County

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Police said four people face charges for a series of “Rose Ruse” burglaries that started in December 2023.

The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said that a total of seven burglaries happened, the earliest taking place on Dec. 28.

In several of the burglaries, a woman holding flowers walked up to the home and knocked on the door. When no one answered, she went back to a car. Two men forced their way into the home and stole items including jewelry, cash and purses. Police said that the suspects also tried to hide their identities by covering or tampering with surveillance cameras.

FCPD believed that the group was responsible for these burglaries:

  • Dec. 28 at 6 p.m.
    900 block of Dominion Reserve Dr., McLean
  • Dec. 29 at 6 p.m.
    1100 block of Bishopgate Way, McLean
  • Jan. 1 at 2 a.m.
    1100 block of Windrock Dr., McLean
  • Jan. 2 at 6 p.m.
    10000 block of Blue Roan Rd., Oakton
  • Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m.
    11000 block of Lance Ln., Oakton
  • Jan. 9 between 12:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
    11100 block of Farm Rd., Great Falls
  • Jan. 11 between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.
    1400 block of Mahyurst Blvd., McLean
