Local Northwest DC Resident Arrested for String of Armed Robberies

Metropolitan Police Department’s Third and Fourth Districts detectives have arrested a man linked to a series of armed robberies on February 7, 2024. The suspect, 18-year-old Alijah Headspeth, allegedly armed with guns, robbed victims and escaped in a vehicle. The robberies took place at different locations in the Third and Fourth Districts.

During their investigation, detectives connected the robberies and issued a lookout for the suspect’s vehicle. The Department’s helicopter, Falcon 1, was instrumental in locating the vehicle. Officers then arrested Headspeth at the intersection of Minnesota and Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenues in Northeast.

On February 8, 2024, Headspeth, a Northwest, DC resident, was charged with four counts of Armed Robbery (Gun) and Carrying a Pistol without a License. The case is still under investigation as detectives gather more information.

The Metropolitan Police Department encourages anyone with information to contact the police at (202) 727-9099 or text their tip to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. A reward of up to $10,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of any other individuals involved.
