Local Teen Arrested for Series of Armed Carjackings in Northwest DC

The Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force arrested a teenager linked to three armed carjackings in the Fourth District. The 14-year-old male suspect from Northwest, DC, was arrested on February 15, 2024, following a DC Superior Court order. The teen allegedly committed the crimes as a ride-share passenger, threatening drivers with a firearm and demanding their vehicles.

The first incident occurred on January 14, 2024, at 1:20 a.m. on the 6300 block of 5th Street, Northwest. The second happened two days later, on January 16, around 2:45 a.m. on the 700 block of Madison Street, Northwest. The third carjacking took place on February 3, 2024, at approximately 8:47 p.m., again on the 700 block of Madison Street, Northwest.

In each incident, the victims complied, and the suspect escaped in the stolen vehicles. The police have since recovered all the stolen vehicles. Despite the arrest, the investigation continues as the police gather more information.
