ALEXANDRIA, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Alexandria Police Department (APD) said a person was found dead near a park Wednesday.
A person was found dead near Four Mile Park in the 4100 block of Mount Vernon Ave. Someone reported that they saw a dead body in a river at around 1:30 p.m.
When police arrived, they found the body of a man. APD said the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to find out how the man died.
APD asked people to avoid the area as officers investigate what happened.
