Suspect arrested in DC after leading Virginia State Police on chase in stolen car

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — D.C. police arrested someone after they led Virginia State Police (VSP) on a chase in a stolen car and hit another car in the process Thursday evening.

Just before 7 p.m., a VSP trooper was alerted to a stolen Toyota Prius heading north on I-395. The trooper turned on his cruiser’s emergency lights and siren but the Prius did not stop.

The Prius sped away from the trooper, prompting a chase.

The stolen Prius crossed into D.C. and officers from the Metropolitan Police Department took the driver into custody.

During the chase, the Prius hit a Ford Escape while trying to get away from the trooper. No injuries were reported.

Police were still investigating the incident.
