3 suspects taken into custody in Arlington after armed carjacking in Northeast DC

ARLINGTON, Va. ( DC News Now ) — Officers took three people into custody on Sunday afternoon in Arlington in connection to an armed carjacking that took place in Northeast D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that at around 2:45 p.m., police received a call for an armed carjacking in the 5000 block of Jay Street in Northeast.

At around 3:15 p.m., the Arlington County Police Department (ACPD) received a lookout from MPD for a vehicle that was recently carjacked in D.C. and was traveling in Arlington County.

An ACPD officer located the vehicle and individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions near The Pentagon in the area of S. Fern Street and Army Navy Drive and confronted them.

A foot pursuit ensued, and officers took three suspects into custody with the assistance of additional responding officers.

Police recovered two firearms. No injuries were reported.
