Angelo Mobley, 32 (Bedford County Prison)

Angelo Mobley, 32, of Alexandria, Va., was arrested Wednesday afternoon on Lincoln Highway in Bedford after a traffic stop led to him allegedly giving police a fake name.

According to the criminal complaint, troopers pulled over a white Nissan when their radar read it was driving 65 miles per hour in an area marked 45. Troopers said a strong smell of marijuana was noticed when they approached the vehicle. It was alleged that the driver, later identified as Mobley, was speaking slow and had red eyes.

Mobley allegedly gave state police a fake name and date of birth numerous times, claiming he didn’t have his Virginia license with him. The owner of the vehicle, who was also in the car, said she was dating Mobley but didn’t know his real name as they met on a dating app. According to charges, she also said Mobley had smoked weed. Troopers said they also found two minors in the backseat of the vehicle sitting on someone’s lap.
