Maryland man named United States Postal Service ‘Driver of the year’

GAITHERSBURG, Md. ( DC News Now ) — For more than 40 years, one Maryland man has been a tractor-trailer operator for the United States Postal Services (USPS). Now, he is being recognized for his hard work and dedication.

Carter Scott, who drives trucks for the Suburban Processing and Distribution Center in Gaithersburg began his career with the USPS in 1979. The postal services said since then he has not had any preventable incidents.

To highlight his tenure and milestone with the USPS, Scott was named the 2024 “Driver of the Year.”

Former attorney continues advocating for people with disabilities in DC

He said he drives his postal truck the same way he drives his car. Scott said this is to return home to his family safely.
