NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) – Amtrak Virginia announced a limited-time sale for travel between Newport News and Washington D.C. to celebrate the grand opening of the new Newport News station.

The sale offers at least 25% off of Flex Fare prices in Coach Class for travel between the two cities, which includes Alexandria, Quantico, Fredericksburg, Ashland, Richmond and Williamsburg, for trips between Sept. 19 and Nov. 3. The sale is only valid for sales booked now through Sept. 21.
Passengers aboard the Amtrak will be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi, the ability to travel with small pets, reclining seats with legroom and large windows — which reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 83%, according to Amtrak Virginia.
Amtrak Virginia also states the sale is able to be combined with Amtrak’s everyday discounts , although some restrictions apply.
