DC police investigating three overnight armed robberies, carjackings

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating three separate armed robberies and carjackings that happened across the District overnight.

Police told DC News Now that the call came in for the first incident around 11:43 p.m. on Sept. 19 for a robbery in Northeast. D.C.

Officers responded to the 100 block of K Street where they learned that five men wearing ski masks carjacked a scooter. Police said one of the men had a gun.

The victims were not injured.

About an hour later, around 12:48 a.m., officers were called to investigate a second armed carjacking in Northwest. According to MPD, the incident happened in the 800 block of P Street.

Police said the victim was carjacked of a black Cadillac XRT with Virginia Tags. The victim told police that the suspect had a knife.

MPD said the victim was treated at the scene by DC Fire and EMS for minor injuries.
