WASHINGTON, D.C. – WMATA announces upcoming December closures for some of its Blue, Orange, and Silver Line stations. According to a news release, these closures will begin December 20th and run until December 30th. These dates were chosen due to historically lower ridership. These closures are to allow for an 11-day major construction project that includes improving tracks and signaling. All stations will reopen on December 31st.
