Jeiver Pozuelos Cervantes has been identified by investigators as the victim who was killed in what is believed to have been a targeted attack, not a random crime in Riverdale.
At approximately 6:40 a.m. on Oct. 24, officers in the area of Veterans Parkway and Riverdale Road were alerted to Cervantes, who was unresponsive on the side of the road with critical injuries.
The Hyattsville resident was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders.
Detectives are now working to identify a motive or possible suspects involved in the targeted shooting.
The fatal shooting remains under investigation.
