A Washington woman is facing hate crime charges after she allegedly yelled racial slurs and shoved a teen at a park, per King 5 .
Jennifer Vincent initially called police on October 25 claiming that she had been pushed by the teen at Pioneer Park. When an officer responded to the scene, a group of teens told police that Vincent was walking around the park “shouting racial and derogatory statements to him and other Hispanic people.”
According to the teen Vincent claimed was the aggressor, the woman approached a family taking pictures for their young daughter’s quinceaƱera and “told them to go back to their country.”
The teen told authorities that Vincent later walked over to his group, got in his face, and “told him to go back to where he came from and he’s not allowed in this country.” Vincent then pushed the teen, prompting him to shove her back, he told police.
Multiple witnesses backed the teen’s account of the incident and told officers that Vincent had called him multiple racial slurs. Police said the woman was uncooperative with officers and repeatedly asked for medical attention despite being seen walking around the park normally.
