Metro worker taken to hospital after falling onto track in DC

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — A Metro employee is recovering in the hospital Thursday morning after he fell onto the track at the Farragut North Station in D.C.

In a post on X just before 3 a.m., the DC Fire and EMS Department said crews responded to the train station located in the 1700 block of K Street NW.

According to the post, an employee fell onto the track bed from the platform.

The fire department said once on the scene, firefighters removed the worker from the track.

He was evaluated by medics and was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Officials said a train was not involved in this incident.
