WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Ride into Washington, D.C.’s past while on a piece of history! For more than 50 years, the National Capital Trolley Museum has been giving visitors the chance to experience the transit system that built and served communities across the DMV.
“We operate a collection of streetcars from Washington D.C., North America and European capitals,” said Eric Madison, Executive Director of the National Capital Trolley Museum.
National Harbor to honor Veterans Day with series of events
Madison said the streetcar era in D.C. ran from 1862 to 1962, just short of 100 years. He said the museum is a great place to visit for the entire family.

“We try to make it so you can actually experience the historical objects, you can actually ride on the streetcar, hear the sights and the sounds,” added Madison.
The museum also has a special event coming up to get visitors in the holiday spirit.
