WASHINGTON, DC ( DC News Now )–The mother of a young man whose body police found near Suitland Parkway in Anacostia is speaking out on her loss.
“The first thing that I want for my son is justice. I want justice,” said Ingris, who opted not to give her last name or show her face on camera.
18-year-old Alexander Pavon-Rios was her oldest son. Ingris said he vanished on Oct. 27.
Then, on Nov. 8 at around 6:55 a.m., Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) officers were called to the 2600 block of Dunbar Road after someone reported finding human remains. MPD said that the caller reported the body being “near” a vent shaft.
Police later identified the body as Pavon-Rios.
“My son was a happy teenager, who was just happy,” Ingris told DC News Now. “Anywhere he went, he just brought a smile to everyone’s face. He got along with everyone he interacted with.”
Since his death, Ingris has turned to social media to come up with the money for the funeral so her son can be buried in his home country of Nicaragua. However, that’s not all she wants.
