PHOTOS: Police celebrate 100th birthday of DC woman with parade, flowers

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — Police officers in Washington, D.C., gathered to celebrate a special birthday for one long-time resident.

On Tuesday, Nov. 19, police held a parade on Quincy Place NE to mark the 100th birthday of Mrs. Bessie Johnson.

Officers honored Johnson on her special day with flowers, balloons, a card and a visit from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Badger Bear.

D.C. police said Johnson has lived in Northeast D.C. for over 60 years!
