Police: 3 in custody, gun recovered after police chase in Seat Pleasant

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Seat Pleasant Police Department (SPPD) said three juveniles were taken into custody after they led officers on a chase in a stolen vehicle on Sunday night.

According to a post on X, Seat Pleasant police said that around 9:45 a.m. on Dec. 22, officers noticed a vehicle, that was carjacked from Washington, D.C., in the 5700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Highway in Seat Pleasant.

With the help of a helicopter from the Metropolitan Police Department, officers tried to stop the vehicle but were unsuccessful.

After more than 30 minutes into the chase, the vehicle eventually stopped in the 2800 block of Pin Oak Lane. Police said that’s when several people exited the vehicle and started running.

Shortly after, police took three juveniles into custody and officers recovered a handgun, according to the police.

SPPD said officers are still searching for one person.
