Man arrested for Southeast DC fatal shooting from May

WASHINGTON ( DC News Now ) — A man was arrested Monday for his involvement in a fatal shooting that happened back in May in Southeast D.C., police said.

Just after 2 p.m. on May 7, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to the 3400 block of 25th St. SE.

They found 42-year-old Tremaine Nicholson inside a home there suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Dec. 23, MPD said officials arrested 35-year-old Robert Carpenter of Southeast D.C. and charged him with second-degree murder while armed.
