Man charged in Prince George’s County double shooting that left 1 dead, another hospitalized

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) announced Wednesday a man was charged in connection to a shooting that left one person dead and another injured .

Police said 20-year-old Jaiden Thomas, of Silver Spring, was arrested and charged with first and second-degree murder and other related charges.

According to PGPD, the shooting happened on Dec. 15 just before 11 p.m. in the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road. Once on the scene, police officers found two men who had been shot, lying on the ground.

Both victims were taken to the hospital where 18-year-old Rasheed Davis of Germantown, Md. died.

According to PGPD, the second man was admitted in critical condition, and he remains in the hospital, as of Dec. 25.

Throughout the investigation, police learned that the shooting took place during a drug deal and Thomas and Davis did not know each other.

Thomas is in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
