Maryland Attorney General’s Office delays release of body camera footage in deadly Laurel shooting

HOWARD COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG) announced Tuesday that it is delaying the release of bodycam footage after a man died during a standoff with police in Laurel last month.

According to the OAG, on Nov. 30, Howard County Police Department (HCPD) officers responded to a home in Laurel shortly after 3 p.m. for a domestic incident.

Police said the 911 call reported a man banging on the front door.

Once on scene, officers learned that a man, later identified as 29-year-old Tyree Winslow of College Park, Md., fired several shotgun rounds at the front door of the home before entering through a window.

Winslow allegedly did not comply with commands from police on the scene, and two officers exchanged gunfire with him.

Officers then established a barricade but were unable to make contact with Winslow. Around 5:40 p.m., police entered the home, where they found him with apparent gunshot wounds.
