DC prepares to take in 1,500+ unhoused people during upcoming winter storm

WASHINGTON (7News) – With severe weather on its way, 7 News looked into what will happen to the nearly 6,000 people who are reportedly homeless in the District. Janethe Pena is the founder of DC Doors, a non-profit designed to help people move from homelessness to stable housing. D.C. Door operates Zoe’s drop-in center with support from the DC Department of Human Services. The center is open 24 hours for anyone 18 to 24 who’s in need of shelter.
