PETERSBURG – Hope you enjoyed the end-of-the-week flirt with spring because winter is coming back with a vengeance next week and bringing the possibility of some more measurable snow.
A bevy of winter storms will bedevil most of the U.S. next week, with AccuWeather calling the system that will affect us the most intense and widespread of them. The one-two punch of this system is likely to be felt between Monday evening and early Wednesday morning, and then again Wednesday into Thursday – bringing with them rain and a possible wintry mix across Virginia and “plowable snow” between Washington and New England, AccuWeather said.
“As one storm system over Texas traverses north towards the Appalachians, another storm is expected to develop off the East Coast,” AccuWeather chief meteorologist Jonathan Porter said. “This is a recipe for significant snowfall. People in the Midwest, mid-Atlantic, and Northeast should be prepared for disruptive to significant snowfall accumulations next week, including Boston and New York City.”…
