More than two months after a woman was assaulted and had her car stolen in broad daylight in the Glover Park neighborhood, DC police have nabbed the suspect. The Metropolitan Police Department announced they’ve made an arrest in the February carjacking incident.
The ordeal unfolded on Davis Place Northwest on the morning of February 3, when a man accosted the victim and managed to aggressively wrest her car keys away. The suspect took off in her vehicle, leaving the woman to be treated for minor injuries right on the sidewalk. The vehicle didn’t stay gone for long; it was found the next day. Yet, the perpetrator seemed to have vanished into the city’s bustle.
A break in the case came thanks to the MPD’s Carjacking Task Force who utilized surveillance footage to track down the suspect.
