Montgomery County presses forward on legislation to create more housing

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (7News) — 7News walked into an office building off Rockledge Drive and took the elevator to the 5th floor to find two spaces right next to one another cleared out.

“Vacant offices are a scourge on our economy, a scourge on our communities, and we want them to be productive,” said Andrew Friedson, Montgomery County District 1 Councilmember and Chair of the Planning Committee. “If we want these conversions to happen, then we have to make it easier for them to happen.”
