DC woman says goodbye to raccoon-infested home after 7News exclusive triggered action

WASHINGTON, D.C. (7News) — After a 7News Exclusive report about raccoons in her government-funded D.C. property and two weeks of multiple follow-up calls and emails to the district and property management, Ms. Linda Chaplin is moving into a new place, raccoon-free.

D.C. Bureau Reporter Phylicia Ashley was at Chaplin’s old apartment on Thursday, as she packed up her things and got prepared to say goodbye after enduring more than a year of raccoon infestations.

The property, managed by SE Washington Development Associates II LP and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), had been aware of the issue but took action only after 7News aired a report on the situation.
